The evaluation of p53 and Ki-67 expressions in invasive micropapillary carcinoma of the breast and its relation with other prognostic parameters: Thirty two cases
نویسنده
چکیده
This study aimed to assess the expression of p53 and Ki-67 antigen and to evaluate its relation with the other prognostic parameters in pure and partial type of invasive micropapillary carcinoma of the breast in thirty two cases. Immunohistochemical staining was performed for p53 and Ki-67 antibodies. Statistical analysis was performed for comparing the expression of p53 and proliferative activity index with tumor size, lymph node metastasis, estrogen and progesterone receptor status and c-erbB-2 expression in pure and partial invasive micropapillary carcinoma. In our series, there was no correlation of Ki-67 and p53 expressions between tumor size, lymph node metastasis, estrogen receptor (ER) status, progesteron receptor (PR) status, and c-erbB-2 expressions (p>0.05). There was no significant difference between the cases of pure invasive micropapillary carcinoma and the cases of partial invasive micropapillary carcinoma for tumor size, lymph node metastasis, ER and PR status and c-erbB-2 expressions (p>0.05). Background & Aim: Breast carcinoma is the most common malignant tumor and the leading cause of carcinoma death in women. One of the factors which have been proposed in prognosis and treatment of breast carcinoma is hormonal status and hormonal receptors. In this study, we investigated histopathology(prognostic factors) and biologic markers(estrogen receptor ER, progesterone receptor PR, P53...

Background: Prostate cancer is one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers in males. Tumor suppressor gene p53 plays an important role in causing cell cycle arrest and allowing apoptosis to proceed. Objective: To investigate the expression of p53 protein and its relation to apoptosis and prostate cancer traditional prognostic indicators. Methods: In this study expression of p53 was examined in p...
